The Canadian Transportation Museum and Heritage Village offers a one of a kind venue for your next event. Our facilities include a turn of the century church, picturesque grounds, a covered outdoor pavilion, quaint courtyard, a spacious hall, which holds up to 200 guests for larger functions and the 50s Diner for smaller functions of 40 or less. The possibilities are endless. Our helpful and courteous staff will assist you in planning your upcoming event. We now have projector and WiFi accessibility for group meetings and both the Church and Hall are heated and air-conditioned. We encourage you to make an appointment to come out and visit us and see first-hand all that we have to offer. Our facilities are perfect for:
• Weddings: Our historic 1885 Bethel United Church, now considered non-denominational provides an intimate setting for you traditional styled ceremony. Please note: at this time, the Church is not wheelchair accessible. If the Church is not the right fit for exchanging your vows, why not have your ceremony at one of the other wonderful spots on the grounds in Heritage Village. Options include the 1851 Train Station Platform, in front of the beautifully carved Story Pole, or in the covered pavilion.
• Showers: Host your wedding or baby shower in our main hall, pavilion or, for smaller groups, the 50s Diner may be the right place.
• Pictures: Amateur and family photos may be taken on the Grounds of Heritage Village and professional photographers are welcome to take wedding, engagement and family photos as well, but there is a charge and an application contract to be filled out, therefore all photographers need to make arrangements with the office for photograph opportunities.
• Parties, Meetings, Reunions, Group Tours, & Special Events: Talk to our Media & Event Manager about working together to host the best event ever right here at the CTMHV!

Our September 2021 wedding reception at CTMHV, literally only a couple of days following the local health unit’s imposition of emergency public health orders / restrictions, was outstanding! Donna, the events coordinator, could not possibly have been more accommodating or helpful and she spent a good deal of her personal time attending to all of the details. Her enthusiasm and efforts for “getting it right”, as well as many constructive suggestions for alternatives given the almost countless changes in circumstances, went far beyond our expectations. Donna and CTMHV were more than reasonable in providing us whatever we needed. The reception area was even more beautifully decorated than originally envisioned, thanks to Donna’s efforts and coordination. We were also afforded the opportunity, which we took advantage of, to capture some gorgeous and unique photographs and video of the wedding party in the Heritage Village.
